Snow Day x2

On December 6 and 9 the kiddos had a snow day. Here in the Willamette Valley we do not get snow. The weather is totally different than it is back home in Southern Oregon, which has 4 distinct seasons, and the valley has rain.

Missy has been saying it was going to snow that Friday all week, so when she woke up and there was snow all over the ground, and no school you could only imagine how ecstatic she was.

Before I even had a chance to make breakfast, the older two were asking to go out and play. So I helped them get in their warm clothes, and out they went. They had such a great time.
Ready to go

Yay for snow!

Then on Monday December 9, the kiddos had another snow day. It worked out perfect that my girlfriends little girl (who is a month older than Missy) was able to come, and spend the day with us while her mama was at work. The kiddos has such a fun time playing together.

They did some finger painting, dress up, which included a fashion show, as well as Barbies, and trains.

That morning I had forgot I had brought a full box of Cheerios into the toy room to distract the trio while changing diapers, and getting them dressed. Needless to say they found it... and emptied it.

This guy woke up from his nap with a major blow out, which required not only a clean outfit, but also a bath.
E -- all refreshed and ready to play
After all the crazyness, the older two and I took advantage of the opportunity and baked some cookies. Who doesn't love warm cookies and a cup of cold milk?
Peanut butter cookies coming up

We really did have a good time playing in the snow, and I am so grateful that the kiddos have had the opportunity to play in the snow like I did when I was growing up. Here is to dreaming of white Christmas!

Recap of December 14-21

This week was such a crazy busy week! Hubby's parents, and little brother arrived Saturday morning to watch the kiddos for us while we attended his company Christmas party on a dinner cruise. We carpooled with another couple to Portland, stopped at the Wild Haire Pub for drinks, then headed to the boat. The food, and waitstaff was great, and the company was a lot of fun. We even behaved, and was home, and in bed by 11.

A lovely 6 year old took our picture for us
Love him!

Sunday we went into Chuck E Cheese after they opened to celebrate Missy's 6th birthday with a few of her friends, and our family. Everyone had such a great time. I even think they improved on their pizza. It was one of the most relaxing parties I think we have ever hosted. Since we had it so close to opening there was not a lot of people there, and two hours later when we were done, it was finally starting to get buys. Plus I didn't have to clean up so that was great. Ha! She got a lot of great things, and now Mr. Z wants to have his party there. We are so blessed that we were able to spend it with our friends and family.

On Tuesday E and I headed to Lake Oswego for a follow up eye appointment. It was at 8:30 when they first opened so it was nice to get in and out. Since the boys have been born, and visiting the eye doctor, Aunt (Kayla) has been meeting us there to help, and then after we go and have coffee. I really look forward to visiting with her, so much that I schedule our appointments not only around my schedule, but hers too.

Tuesday evening Missy had her Winter Dance recital. So after supper we loaded up and headed into town to watch her perform. As always, she did an awesome job. We are so proud of her and how much she has progressed. Like both her parents, she takes it very seriously, and gives it her all. In January she will be moved up to the next class. I am very excited, and happy about this. I hope that it not only challenges her, but that she continues to grow, and enjoy it.

Wednesday Grandpa and Grandma Beasly went home. It was a pretty mellow day for us. My really good friend and her three girls came that evening, and stayed until Saturday morning.

Thursday I went and volunteered in Missy's kinder class as usual. That afternoon Nana kept the kiddos for a bit so that I could hang out at home while the Heater technicican serviced our system. That evening the hubby and I went to dinner before heading to a boot sale. I had some Christmas money I was dying to use, and had my heart set on a pair. I was able to get one of the last pair in my size.Woo hoo!!

Friday Meems and her girls hung out until that evening so she was able to hang out with the boys while I went in and helped with Missy's holiday party. They did their monthly awards after carpet/calendar time. Last time she received an award her teacher let us know, however, this time we did not receive any heads up so I assumed she was not receiving one. Well was this mama shocked! She not only received 1 award, nope not even 2. My little smarty pants received 3 awards; writing sentences, perfect attendance, reading 10 books. We are SO proud of her, and her eagerness to learn.

The party was a lot of fun, and I tell you what, kinder kids are the cutest! There is never a dull moment that's for sure. I was so thankful I was able to spend the afternoon with her.

Whew are you tired yet? Like I said, we had a pretty busy week. It was a lot of fun, and I wouldn't change a thing. This next week should not be as busy. We plan to stay home for Christmas and New Years, which I am *SUPER* excited about. I cannot wait.

All She Wants for Christmas is Her 2 Front Teeth

On December 5, Missy lost her second tooth!

She has been playing with it for a couple of weeks now. A couple of days before it, she asked me to try and pull it out, but because she was afraid it would hurt (and I couldn't get a good grip) she wouldn't let me go through with it. Anyways, I was finally able to get a grip and get the loose thing out. We were all SO excited.

The lovely Tooth Fairy left her two gold chocolate coins, as well as a while dollar. Woo hoo!!

Such a slacker

I have such good intentions with this blog, I really do. I would love to keep up with it so the kiddos are able to look back, and have a look into our past, plus I have fun with it. I have always enjoyed writing, and this is a great way for me to get all my thoughts, and memories out.

So with all that said, I am working on setting up a bunch of posts now that will be scheduled to run for the rest of the week, hopefully to get all caught up. Yay!

Warm holiday wishes!!

Weekend Wrap Up (a day late)

Happy (late) Thanksgiving to everyone!

Originally we were going to go home and spend it with our families, but the kiddos got sick so we decided to stay home. This actually turned out to be better for us because Thanksgiving morning I ended up getting sick, and my amazing husband finished our supper. He did such an awesome job, and everything tasted so good.

Saturday morning we got up, and after breakfast we headed out to get a Christmas tree. I love bundling the kiddos up, and getting them out of the house since we spend the majority of our time at home during the winter (keeping the micro-preemie trio safe and healthy). They had such a great time looking at all the trees, and wandering around the tree farm. Coach and I grew up going up into the mountains, playing in the snow, roasting lunch over a fire, and hiking around to find the perfect tree, and although that isn't possible where we live now, I am so thankful that we are able to take them to a Christmas tree farm where they can run around have a good time searching for a tree. This year Z and his daddy found the perfect tree. Seriously, it's perfect. We had such a fun decorating the tree, and putting up all of our holiday decorations. Z was especially into putting everything up. He followed Coach around all afternoon making sure he was doing the house lights correctly, was extra good about taking a nap, and took careful thought hanging his ornaments, and giving his mama "advice" when putting the rest of the decorations up.

Nothing like 6am snuggles with nothing but the tree on (and Doc McStuffins)

I have a ton of photos on our camera I need to download from this past week...someday...someday soon I hope.

Sunday was pretty mellow. Our Elf on the Shelf Emily is back, and brought the kiddos some mini donuts for breakfast, and the movie Planes too. They loved the message she left in peanut butter M&Ms.After breakfast we went and watched football at Nana (my Mom) and Papa's house (she has NFL Sunday ticket and the Bears were not scheduled in our area).

She came bearing gifts!

Sneaky Emily caught with Moms good Sharpie!

Hope you also had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
